All preparations for the 'International and Global Career Summit 2026', which is being organized targeting Nepali students who want to pursue higher education in the US and Canada, have been completed. At a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday, the organizers informed that preparations for the summit, which will begin on Saturday, have been completed. According to the organizers, more than 700 students and parents are expected to participate in the summit.

The summit, which is being organized jointly by Orbit International Education and Straw Holdings, in collaboration with the US-based Mpower Financing Company, will be held on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Everest Hotel in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.

The main attraction of the summit will be the participation of international experts from Mpower. They will interact directly with students who want to study in the US and Canada about unsecured educational loans, financial planning, and post-study opportunities, according to the organizers.

Prakash Pandey, President of Orbit International, said that the summit will provide students and parents with an opportunity to get information about various colleges, subjects and study options at one place. 'This summit will be very important as students and parents will be able to get information about subjects and colleges of their interest at one place,' he said.

Similarly, Praveen Adhikari, CEO of Straw Holdings, clarified that the summit will not only be limited to study options but will also focus on future employment. 'The summit will not only make students aware of which country and college to choose, but also about career and employment opportunities after studies,' he said. 'This program will be very beneficial as they will get direct information from subject experts.'

Claire Almond, Representative of Empower Financing, said that the summit will also be useful for students who want to study for a master's degree in the US and Canada. 'This summit is also important for students to understand which subject they can choose and get good opportunities in the future,' she said. She mentioned that the academic performance of the student will be considered as the main basis for providing unsecured educational loans and the employment prospects after the studies will also be taken into account.

The summit will have special sessions on topics such as financial challenges related to studying abroad, security, health insurance, and student lifestyle management. In addition, the benefits of the US Alternative Practical Training (OPT) and the Canadian work permit system are also scheduled to be discussed.

To make the program more attractive, MPower will organize ‘icebreaker’ activities and ‘Kahoot’ quiz competition, where participants can win attractive prizes. Power banks and thermal tumblers will be provided to the initial participants, while one lucky participant will get the opportunity to win an iPad.

There is no fee to participate in the summit. However, the organizers have stated that interested students and parents should register in advance due to limited seats.

The summit is expected to be a useful platform for Nepali students and parents planning to study abroad.
