Ncell has taken significant steps towards expanding the reach and improving the quality of its 4G network by installing and commissioning 250 new towers across the country in 2025.
It has also increased the capacity of 2,200 towers. Due to which customers can benefit from clearer voice services and high-speed data services.
This 4G network strengthening and service expansion has been done at a time when reliable connectivity is not only a service but also a necessity for security, education, business and staying in touch with loved ones at all times.
New towers have been installed and put into operation in various local levels of all seven provinces, with a special focus on Madhesh, Lumbini, Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Province-wise, Ncell has installed towers in local levels including Dailekh's Sabhapokhari, Rukum West's Purtimkanda and Salyan's Bagchaur and provided 4G service.
Towers have also been installed in other places including Ladagada of Doti, Banjariya of Kailali and Saraswati Tole of Kanchanpur in Sudurpaschim Province. Similarly, after the new towers came into operation in dozens of places including Hanumannagar in Siraha, Bhimpur in Saptari and Musaharniya in Dhanusha in Madhesh Pradesh, locals have benefited from high-quality voice and mobile broadband services.
'Now, I can even get a very good net at home. It has become much better than before,' said Anisha Mandal of Janakpur Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 17, Manharpur, 'I also need a mobile and net for studying. I cannot do without net to view college notices online, exchange notes, learn things I don't understand on YouTube and ChatGPT. Then, I have to talk to my brothers abroad regularly.'
Out of the total 250 towers, 197 towers have been installed in the last two and a half months, while 53 new towers have been brought into operation by making maximum use of the equipment in stock and spares. The company had accelerated the work of installing new towers after the Nepal Telecommunication Authority facilitated the long-stalled facilitation.
'These new towers and capacity-enhanced sites added across the country have further expanded the access of customers to mobile broadband and quality voice services at the local levels and places of the respective provinces. This has further enhanced the importance of 4G connectivity,” said Upang Dutt, Chief Consumer Business Officer, Ncell.
In terms of the number of new towers, more than 100 new towers have been installed in Madhesh Pradesh, followed by more than 40 in Lumbini and more than 35 in Koshi Pradesh. Similarly, more towers have been installed in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Even when there was a ban on the import of new equipment, Ncell continued its 4G improvement and expansion work and installed 53 new towers using stock and spare equipment.
The expansion will further strengthen 4G network access for customers across the country and further improve the quality of service. In line with its commitment to provide world-class service and customer experience through modern technology and network, Ncell launched 4G service in Jestha 2074, ensuring access to high-speed mobile broadband to its customers. The service has been expanded to all 77 districts and has reached 100% of the total population. This service has reached more than 95 percent of the population.
