Global IME Bank Limited has announced that it will conduct 19 effective programs under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), making its 19th anniversary special.

Established as the leading commercial bank of Nepal, this institution has taken the opportunity of its anniversary this year as well, and has put forward large-scale social contribution programs.

Last year, on the occasion of its 18th anniversary, the bank organized programs including humanitarian assistance, education, health, environmental protection, and financial literacy. On the occasion of its 18th anniversary, the bank announced a program to plant 18,000 trees across the country.

Last year, the bank, in collaboration with local levels, local organizations, and community organizations, planted about 21,000 trees useful for environmental protection, livelihood, and income generation.

On the occasion of its 19th anniversary, the bank will conduct these programs nationwide, targeting remote areas, poor, disadvantaged, and low-income communities, prioritizing education, health, environmental protection, financial literacy, and humanitarian assistance.

Among these programs, the Global IME Healthy Women Initiative is an important program. Under which the bank will conduct 14 free women's health camps in all seven provinces.

Services such as health check-ups, uterine cancer (VIA) tests, uterine prolapse treatment and medicine distribution will be provided by gynecologists in the camp. During this camp, surgical treatment will also be provided to women who are diagnosed at an early stage and who are seriously ill in the second phase.

More than 10,000 women have benefited from this program, which has been run in collaboration with the Nepal Family Planning Association for the past five years. Similarly, the bank will organize a comprehensive eye check-up and cataract surgery camp in seven places in seven provinces.

Targeting the poor, disadvantaged and low-income people, the bank believes that this program will help in treating eye problems of poor, disadvantaged and low-income people in remote areas who do not receive treatment due to lack of money.

The bank will conduct eye examinations and distribute necessary glasses to 1,500 poor, disadvantaged and low-income students studying in government and community schools free of cost. The bank will also conduct health camps in all seven provinces to provide health services to the poor and low-income communities.

In addition, the bank will provide financial assistance for the treatment of patients with complex and chronic diseases. On the recommendation of local bodies and health institutions, the bank will provide a certain amount of assistance for the treatment of complex diseases.

In the education sector, the bank has been providing scholarships to poor and meritorious girl students from grades 6 to 12. This program, which has benefited 140 girl students in the past five years, will be expanded to include 77 more girl students this year.

Programs such as building libraries in remote schools, distributing school uniforms and educational materials to 10,000 students, and providing first aid training and handing over materials are also included. The bank will provide financial assistance for MPhil and PhD research and research to poor and talented students studying higher education in the faculties of economics, management, and law.

Under the Global Green School Program, plastic replacement, tree plantation, sanitation, and waste collection centers will be established for environmental protection. Waste management training will be conducted in coordination with the local level. Blood donation programs will be organized in major cities, and food and other assistance will be provided to children in ashrams and orphanages.

Along with the development of information technology and the adoption of modern technology, awareness programs will be conducted about autism in children and necessary support will be provided to them. With the aim of contributing to nation building by creating healthy and disciplined young manpower, the bank will distribute sports equipment in poor, disadvantaged, and low-income communities and schools in remote areas.

The bank will operate an entrepreneurship program with the aim of increasing income-earning capacity. Under this  Entrepreneurship program, the poor and low-income people will be provided with vocational and skill-based training.

The bank will conduct financial literacy programs through all its 352 branches to spread awareness about electronic fraud and theft, and organize programs to include the maximum population in the banking system.  All these initiatives are expected to directly benefit the weaker sections of the society and contribute to long-term development.

Global IME Bank has set a new example in the banking sector of Nepal by linking its anniversary with social responsibility. The bank's programs will include the poor, disadvantaged and low-income communities in all seven provinces of the country. This effort is believed to have a great impact on health, education and environmental awareness.
