Formal preparations have begun for the 'Koshi Excellence Awards-2026' to be held at the Soaltee Westend Hotel in Itahari on Falgun 7.
Established as a prestigious award of Koshi, this program has been honoring personalities born in Koshi Province and making significant contributions to the national and international arena.
The organizer has stated that three new categories have been added this year to make the award more sophisticated, influential and attractive at the national level.
The organizer says that preparations are being made to raise the award to a level that attracts attention from all over the country by introducing innovations in the presentation, management and honoring process of the program.
This award was being run by Nayan Advertising Media Pvt. Ltd. last year. However, from this year, the program will be organized through the newly formed Nayan Media Foundation, according to a statement issued by the foundation's chairman Pawan Adhikari. 'We have made the structure of the award, expansion of categories, decisive selection process and overall management more systematic, transparent and dignified. This will now become a prestigious award not only of Koshi but also of Nepal,' the statement said.
Last year, awards were presented in more than a dozen categories including education, health, communication, literature, tourism, agriculture, corporate, banking, sports, social, startup, technology, insurance. This year, three new categories have been added, namely automobile, music, and capital market.
The foundation has stated that the category was added after the demand for including awards from those sectors in the previous year's program increased.
A high-level judging committee has been formed with the aim of making the award more credible, dignified, and national-level. Chairman Adhikari said that a 4-member judging panel has been formed under the coordination of former Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari as the chief advisor and Constituent Assembly member Pawan Sharada.
The committee has stated that the award recipient selection process is being carried out in a rapid and transparent manner. As the Koshi Provincial Government moves forward with preparations for 'Tourism Year 2082', the organizers believe that the awards program will make a significant contribution to promoting the province's tourism, trade, and socio-cultural identity.
