Nepal-India Confederation of Commerce and Industry (Nikki) and Goa Confederation of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) have signed an agreement with the aim of promoting mutual trade, cross-border investment and economic cooperation between the Indian state of Goa and Nepal. The MoU was signed by Nikkei President Sunil KC and Goa Chamber President Pratima Dhond.
The purpose of the agreement is to strengthen cooperation by expanding mutual understanding, information exchange and business contacts in the fields of trade, investment, industry and tourism, said KC, president of Nikkei. This collaboration is expected to facilitate exchange of information on economic trends, investment environment, government policies, regional opportunities and various information between the two associations.
According to the agreement, Nikkei and the Goa Chamber will help organize bilateral business delegation exchanges, joint meetings, trade fairs, exhibitions and business conferences. Goa Chamber President Dhonda said the agreement will help entrepreneurs from both countries explore new possibilities in partnership, investment projects and technology transfer.
A joint thematic forum, conference, seminar or round-match program will be organized at least once every year on issues of mutual interest. In addition, regular contact will be maintained between the two federations through institutional dialogue. There will also be collaboration in policy advocacy and dialogue, as well as publishing and research sharing for the benefit of the business community. KC said that the
agreement will also help in technology transfer, consultation and exchange of best practices related to industrial and economic development. For this, a joint task force or committee will be formed, which will monitor the implementation of joint initiatives and advance new cooperation proposals.
