Relatives vandalized the hospital after a patient died during treatment in the emergency ward of Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.
At around 11 a.m. on Saturday, relatives, enraged by the death of 45-year-old Rajkumar Patel, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City–25, during treatment in the emergency ward, entered the emergency room and vandalized it.
The deceased's nephew, Bikash Patel, said the patient was brought to the hospital after experiencing chest pain. He alleged that although the doctor prescribed some medicine, the hospital did not have the necessary ECG equipment or other essential treatment materials, and that even basic medicines were not provided.
According to Parsa Police spokesperson DSP Chakraraj Mall, one person who assaulted the local beat police during the incident has been taken into custody. He stated that the situation at the hospital is now normal and that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The hospital administration has not yet issued an official response regarding the incident. However, the deceased's relatives have accused the hospital of negligence in treatment and have demanded an impartial investigation and action against those responsible.
