During the investigation, police took a girl, about 15 years old, into custody on Shrawan 5 and began an inquiry, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Panchalal Gole of the District Police Office, Mahottari.
In the preliminary investigation, the minor girl stated that while she was taking a bicycle loaded with manure towards the field, the brakes failed, and the child, who was running from the opposite direction, came in front of the bicycle. After the collision, both wheels of the bicycle ran over the child's chest, resulting in his death, according to Deputy Superintendent Gole.
According to police, fearing the incident would be exposed, the minor girl put the child's body in a cement sack and threw it into a pond about 300 meters away. The police also said that she removed and hid the two silver bangles from the child's hands.
During the investigation, police recovered the two missing silver bangles and the bicycle used in the incident. According to Deputy Superintendent Gole of the District Police Office, Mahottari, the District Court Mahottari has extended the remand of the minor girl by five days for further investigation on the charge of homicide.
