The provincial government has spent 60.69 percent of the budget on current and 54.12 percent on capital, informed Manoj Kumar Jha, the Account Controller of the Provincial Treasury and Accounts Control Office, Janakpur.
The Madhesh Provincial Government had curbed unnecessary expenditure towards the end of the fiscal year. Madhesh Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai said that the provincial government's expenditure has been reduced due to the ban on piecemeal plans, unnecessary expenditure, and transfer of funds. The Madhesh Province Government had allocated a budget of 46.98 billion 33 million rupees in the current fiscal year. A total of 26.45 billion 67 million rupees has been spent in the current fiscal year. Rs 9.49 billion 15 million rupees have been spent on current expenditure, while Rs 16.96 billion 51 million rupees have been spent on capital expenditure, according to the Ministry of Finance.
