A man was stabbed to death in a land dispute in Auraiya village of Ishanath Municipality in Rautahat on Tuesday night. Another person was injured. Police have arrested two people on charges of murder. According to the District Police Office, a heated dispute broke out between Ram Bahadur Sah, a local of Auraiya village in Ishanath-3, his son-in-law Butan Sah, and his neighbor Ram Autar Sah and his son Rameshwor Sah over land. As the dispute escalated, Rameshwor stabbed Butan Sah, the police said. Butan suffered serious injuries to his back from the stabbing. He was immediately taken to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment.
District Police Spokesperson DSP Basanta Gautam said that he died at around 9 pm during treatment. According to DSP Gautam, Ram Bahadur also suffered head injuries in the incident.
He is undergoing treatment at a local health facility. Immediately after the incident, a police team reached the scene and arrested Rameshwar Sah and Ram Autar Sah, who were involved in the stabbing. Both are father and son. DSP Gautam informed that further investigation into the incident is underway.
