The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Bardibas, has arrested a forest officer from Siraha with a bribe. The CIAA has arrested Ramkewal Rai Yadav, the head of the Sub-Division Forest Office, Bandipur, with a bribe.

The CIAA has stated that Yadav was caught red-handed from Karjanha Municipality-4 while he had already taken a bribe of Rs 12,000. Yadav had demanded a bribe of Rs 4,000 per truck from the operator of a timber industry in Karjanha-2 for bringing three trucks of timber from different places.

After a complaint was filed by a service recipient in this regard, the CIAA, after collecting other necessary evidence, arrested the forest officer Yadav with the bribe on Tuesday. The CIAA team is currently at the scene and work including obtaining the bond is underway, said Prakash Pokharel, spokesperson of the CIAA in Bardibas.

'Our team has taken the forest officer under control and is currently working on completing the legal procedures including the deed,' he told Kantipur. 'We will bring Bardibas after those tasks are completed.'
