Two employees, including the acting chief of the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center, Rajbiraj, were arrested on Monday while accepting bribes and checks.

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Itahari, arrested the acting chief of the center, Dr. Rampavitra Das, and his driver, Bhagendra Yadav.

The team was deployed by the commission based on a special information that employees working as contract vaccinators at the same center were demanding 20 percent 'commission' from the remuneration they were supposed to receive for their work. The team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anmol Khadka, seized Rs 33,350, which the driver Yadav had taken from the vaccinators, and Rs 48,070 from other sources, a total of Rs 81,420 in cash, from the office of the acting chief, Dr. Das.

Five checks with different amounts and one mobile phone each of both were also seized, according to a source at the commission. Further investigation is underway against Acting Chief Dr. Das and driver Yadav, who were arrested with bribes and checks.
