The Muslim community has peacefully celebrated the Muharram festival by holding tazias, religious rallies, and performing acrobatics from places including Murli and Chhapakainya in Birgunj.

The Muslim community celebrated the Muharram festival in Birgunj on Friday with devotion and enthusiasm. Separate processions and religious rallies, including those from Murli and Chhapakanya, paraded through the city, including the clock tower, accompanied by musical instruments and traditional stick acrobatics.
On the occasion of Muharram, religious beliefs and cultural traditions were displayed in memory of the sacrifice of Imam Hussain. The rally saw significant participation from youth to children, women and senior citizens. The participants carried religious flags as well as the national flag and gave traditional performances.
Security arrangements were also tightened keeping in mind the possible crowd on the occasion of Muharram. The local administration has stated that the festival was conducted peacefully.
