In Saptari, except for Khadak Municipality, all local levels have made the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 public within the stipulated time.
According to Section 71 of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, there is a provision to submit the estimated budget for the upcoming fiscal year to the town/village assembly by Asad 10. The budget submitted in this way must be passed by the assembly by Asad. Accordingly, 17 out of 18 local levels here have brought the budget within the time limit.
Rupani Rural Municipality is the first to bring the budget, followed by Surunga Municipality and Bishnupur Rural Municipality. Rupani, which brought a budget of Rs 679.393 crore on Asad 5, has prioritized human capacity development, infrastructure construction, entrepreneurship, agriculture, health, education, employment generation, poverty reduction, sustainable development, environmental protection and ensuring good governance.
Surunga has brought a budget of 891 million 80 thousand on Asad 6. There, emphasis has been placed on education, health, agriculture, drinking water and sanitation, infrastructure development, women empowerment, employment and entrepreneurship development, social security and good governance. The next day, on Asad 7, Bishnupur, which brought a total budget of 395.9 million 33 thousand, has prioritized infrastructure development, agriculture, health, education, and employment.
On Asad 8, Bode Barsain Municipality and Rajgadh Rural Municipality brought budgets. Bode Barsain brought a budget of 862.7 million 70 thousand, emphasizing health, education, agriculture, and livestock development. Rajgadh has brought a budget of 384.8 million 33 thousand. In that budget, priority has been given to agriculture, irrigation, industry and commerce, tourism, employment, education, health, drinking water, and cultural promotion.
On Asad 9, Dakneshwari Municipality brought a budget of Rs 817 million 75 thousand, while on Asad 10, Rajbiraj, Shambhunath, Kanchanrup and Saptakoshi Municipalities and Balan Bihul and Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality brought budgets. Rajbiraj brought a budget of Rs 1.15 billion 42 million 59 thousand, Shambhunath Rs 924 million 82 thousand, Kanchanrup Rs 692 million 24 million 39 thousand 700 and Saptakoshi Rs 461 million 10 million 62 thousand 682.
Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality brought a budget of Rs 648 million 50 thousand, Balan Bihul Rs 520 million and Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rs 473 million 37 million 46 thousand. Chinnamasta has brought a budget of Rs 349.433 crore, Tirhut has brought a budget of Rs 387.844 crore, Tilathi Koiladi has brought a budget of Rs 433.644 crore, and Mahadeva Rural Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 423.50 crore.
Although discussions are underway on policies and programs in Khadak Municipality here, the budget has not been presented. Municipality Information Officer Manoj Kumar Sah said that the budget is yet to be fully prepared.
