Lahan Municipality has made public a budget of Rs 1.38 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084. The municipality made public a budget of Rs 1.38 billion 75 million 10 thousand 576 37 paisa from the 19th municipal assembly on Tuesday.

According to the mayor of the municipality, Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary, 56.69 percent (792.3 million rupees) of the total current expenditure has been allocated, including Rs 348 million for the municipality's current expenditure and Rs 444 million for the federal government's current program, and 43.31 percent (605.2 million 10 thousand 576 37 paisa) for capital expenditure.

163.2 million eight thousand 576.37 paisa towards internal resources, 290 million rupees towards Alya (balance amount), 206.3 million rupees towards federal equalization grant, 444.3 million rupees towards federal conditional grant, 175 million rupees towards federal conditional grant capital.

Similarly, the total budget proposed is 175 million rupees towards federal special grant capital, 450 million rupees towards federal supplementary grant, 144.49 thousand rupees towards provincial equalization, 300 million rupees towards provincial capital, 120.60 thousand rupees towards federal revenue sharing and an estimated amount of 60 million rupees for land revenue registration.

Mayor Chaudhary said that priority has been given to infrastructure, urban development, education, youth and sports development, health, agriculture and irrigation, livestock development, drinking water, sanitation and safe housing programs in the budget.

The chief guest of the program, former member of the Madhesh Provincial Assembly and former mayor Lagan Lal Chaudhary, said that the proposed budget seeks to cover all sectors and if it is successfully implemented, Lahan will take a leap in development.
