The Madhesh government has brought a budget of Rs 41.1386 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

The budget presented by the Finance Minister of the Madhesh Province Government, Yubaraj Bhattarai, has allocated Rs 14.6632 billion, or 35.54 percent, for current expenditure and Rs 26.4753 billion, or 64.36 percent, for capital expenditure. The Madhesh government's budget has been reduced by about Rs 5 billion this year compared to last year. Last year, the then Finance Minister Sunil Kumar Yadav had presented a budget of Rs 46.583351 billion.

The budget estimates that Rs 11.2275 billion will be collected from internal revenue and miscellaneous receipts and Rs 12.83 billion will be received from the federal government as revenue sharing.

Similarly, Finance Minister Bhattarai informed that the financial grant received from the federal government will be Rs 9.49 billion 59 million and Rs 6.85 billion from the remaining cash balance of the current fiscal year. The budget mentions that the insufficient amount of Rs 1.5 billion will be met from internal loans.

The budget estimates that a total of Rs 17.69 billion 27 million will be received from the federal government, including Rs 7.84 billion 85 million in financial equalization grant, Rs 8.10 billion 28 million in conditional grant, Rs 94 billion 74 million in complementary grant and Rs 700 million in special grant. Similarly, the budget mentions that Rs 12.83 billion will be received from federal revenue sharing.

The Madhesh Provincial Government has poured the highest budget into physical infrastructure. Rs 12.1 billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Development.

Similarly, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has been allocated Rs 2.44 billion, the Ministry of Education and Culture Rs 2.90 billion, the Ministry of Health and Population Rs 5.95 billion, the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water Rs 3.77 billion, the Ministry of Labor and Transport Rs 331 million, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Rs 3.77 billion, the Ministry of Forest and Environment Rs 1.33 billion, the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare Rs 1.40 billion, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Communications and Law Rs 683.4 million.
