A Myanmar man and a Swiss woman have been arrested for trying to enter India without a visa through the Raxaul checkpoint on the Nepal-India border.
Indian security agencies took them into custody on Tuesday during a routine check at the Nepal-India Friendship Bridge in Raxaul. Those arrested are Aung Ning Lyant of Myanmar and Junila Beck of Switzerland.
Indian police said they were arrested while trying to enter Bihar without a visa. The security team deployed at the border became suspicious during the document check and during questioning, it was revealed that they did not have the necessary travel permits and visas.
