The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organization expansion and convention process in Mahottari has been postponed indefinitely citing security reasons. The convention has been postponed after internal disputes escalated.
The district convention process has also been affected after the disputes and beatings that started at the city and regional conventions.
As per the decision made public by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mahottari District Convention Election Committee, all remaining programs of the convention have been postponed until further notice. The committee has stated that the program has been postponed as disputes arose between various parties during the election process of the convention and time is needed to find a solution through consensus.
According to party sources, there were heated disputes between various groups during the regional and city conventions over candidacy, representative selection, and leadership selection. There have also been sharp differences among the leaders regarding the selection of district leadership.
In a statement issued by the Convention Election Committee Coordinator Manish Kumar Sah, it is stated that the program has been postponed as time is needed to create an environment for discussion between the conflicting parties and move forward on the basis of consensus.
