The Bara District Court on Friday sent the accused arrested on charges of shooting dead Indian citizen Ajit Singh to Birgunj Jail for remand. He is accused of killing Indian citizen Singh in Pachrauta Municipality-6, Pakdiya, on the Nepal-India border three years ago.
Indian citizen Ranjit Mukhiya was taken into custody on the order of Judge Prakash Kumar Adhikari of Bench No. 1, said the court's presiding judge Rajkumar Dahal. Indian citizen Singh was killed on Asoj 9, 2080 with the connivance of his wife.
Ranjit, 30, a resident of Tinkoni, Gram Panchayat under Darpa Darpa Police Station in Motihari district of Bihar, India, was arrested from Beldari, Pachrauta-4, after 3 years last Wednesday. Singh was killed on the banks of Laxminiya Pokhari in Pachrauta 6, Pakdiya village. The police had investigated the shooting of Singh's wife Sonam Sahni, Ranjit Mukhiya, and Rupesh Kumar Mahato, among others, who were killed. All the accused and the murdered Singh were Indians. Ajit and his wife were living in the market in Simraungarh Municipality-6.
