Siraha police have taken into custody 25 people who were trying to create terror in the society in the name of various groups and gangs along with 21 motorcycles. The police took them into custody after conducting a special operation on the Siraha-Choharwa road on Sunday.

According to the police, they had created accounts and groups in the name of gangs like King of Balan, King of Bhagwanpur, King of Lahan, Killers Brother and others on social media like TikTok and Facebook and were posting videos containing threats, abuse and insults.

Similarly, they had also been making videos with motorcycles without helmets and number plates. The police had increased surveillance on them, assessing that they had been displaying behavior that disturbed peace and security in the society and might even be involved in criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Siraha Police Spokesperson DSP Ramesh Bahadur Pal informed that on Sunday, three to four people were taken into custody while they were collectively going towards Siraha headquarters in violation of traffic rules on a single motorcycle.

DSP Pal said that there were 25 youths including 12 from Balan Bihul Rural Municipality of Saptari, 2 from Lahan Municipality of Siraha, 6 from Bishnupur Rural Municipality and 5 from Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality and 21 motorcycles they were riding.

Police have also taken their mobile phones into custody and further investigation is underway. Preliminary investigation by the police has found that most of them are drug users and have been challenging the security system.

Police are also searching for other people who are leading them. Police have also urged the public to provide information about such people who are trying to create terror in the society, saying that surveillance has been increased on other gangs and groups active in the district.
