The Madhesh Provincial Government has brought a policy and program for the fiscal year 083/084, prioritizing agriculture, industry, and tourism. Provincial Chief Surendra Lav Karna presented the policy and program in the provincial assembly meeting on Friday.

Under the policy of ‘Made in Madhesh: Prosperous Province,’ the Madhesh Province government has announced that it will increase agricultural production and productivity, reduce the import of agricultural products, and become self-reliant in rice, wheat, corn, millet, oilseeds, and pulses. The Madhesh Province government has planned to provide 100 percent subsidy on electricity used in irrigation. ‘Grant money will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of farmers to become self-reliant in agriculture,’ the policy and program read out by the provincial chief states, ‘Marketing arrangements for vegetables, fruits and dairy products will be made immediately through local levels and cooperatives.’

The Madhesh provincial government, which has introduced a policy to honor employers who provide employment to 1,000 people, has stated that it will make easy and simple legal arrangements for establishing industries in the province.
