There has been a protest against the government in Siraha. Locals have protested, saying that the government has closed the small customs office to cause an economic crisis in Madhesh.

The government had decided to close the small customs office in Bariyarpatti of the district on April 21. Protesting this, locals blocked the East-West Highway at Zero Mile and demonstrated on Monday.

They are demanding that the decision to abolish the small customs office be withdrawn and reinstated. Locals had earlier staged a protest on the Hulaki Highway from April 25 to April 27 against this.
