The Congress-led Madhesh Province government, which is in crisis after the Janmat Party withdrew its support, has reshuffled the ruling party before taking the vote of confidence.

The Congress-led Madhesh Province government has formed an alliance with the UML, which has 24 provincial MPs, by removing the ruling party Janmat and the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal from the coalition. UML's Mohammad Samir was appointed as a minister without a department on Thursday night. Meanwhile, two ministers from the Janmat Party in the Congress-led government, Finance Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav and Sports and Social Welfare Minister Basant Kushwaha, resigned late on Thursday evening.

As per the agreement reached at the central level between the Congress, UML and the NCP, the UML has been made the government's leader in the Madhesh Province government, keeping Janmat and JSP Nepal out of power. The meeting of the JSP Nepal parliamentary party held in Janakpur on Thursday decided to give a vote of confidence to the Congress-led government, but that party has been removed from the ruling coalition.

JSP Nepal's Madhesh Province MP Upendra Mahato said that even though his party has decided to give a vote of confidence, there will be a reconsideration on Friday as there is a new power equation in the Madhesh Province government. 'The events have shown that the power equation in Madhesh Province has become new,' said JSP Nepal MP Mahato, 'We have already decided to give a vote of confidence to the Congress-led government.' However, the supporting parties changed last night. There will be another discussion on Friday.'

After Madhesh Province Chief Minister Yadav appointed UML's Samir as a minister, the ruling Janmat party and JSP Nepal have become suspicious. Chief Minister Yadav has appointed Samir as a minister without portfolio after dismissing three ministers from JSP Nepal. Chief Minister Yadav has removed Physical Infrastructure and Development Minister Rajkumar Gupta, Education and Culture Minister Rani Sharma Tiwari, and Labor and Transport Minister Manish Suman from the Madhesh government. Gupta, Tiwari and Suman became ministers from JSP Nepal. Chief Minister Yadav had asked all three ministers from JSP Nepal to resign, saying that there would be a change in the power equation. They were dismissed after they did not resign.

After the Janmat Party withdrew its support, Chief Minister Yadav has set the agenda for taking a vote of confidence at 1 pm on Friday. After the UML supported it, the Congress-led Madhesh Province government has a comfortable majority.
