Police have arrested a man from Golbazaar for allegedly defrauding a person of Rs 600,000 by promising to settle the police and court cases.

Siraha police have arrested Rakesh Sah of Golbazar on charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust.

Ajay Sah of Golbazar had filed a police complaint alleging that Rakesh had taken Rs 600,000 from him to settle banking and other cases, but had cheated him by not doing the work. The District Police Office, Siraha, has said that he was arrested on the basis of that complaint.

According to the Siraha District Court, the police have been given a five-day remand for the first time on Tuesday to investigate Rakesh further.
