Parsa Police have arrested 6 Indian nationals and 1 Nepali while they were gambling in various casinos in Birgunj. According to the District Police Office, Parsa, a joint police team deployed from the Ward Police Office, Birta, conducted a raid on four casinos in Birgunj at around 12:00 am on Saturday night based on a special tip-off about suspicious activities.

Police said that they were taken into custody on charges of gambling at places including King, Fortune City Gaming Club and Casino Mahjong. Those arrested include 26-year-old Ganesh Kumar, 38-year-old Sandeep Kumar, 31-year-old Suraj Prasad, 43-year-old Allah Yadav and 36-year-old Omprakash Yadav, all residents of Bihar, India. Similarly, 37-year-old Jamudin Miyan Ansari, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-32, has also been arrested.

Police said that they recovered casino coins worth Rs 500, Nepali rupees 555, Indian rupees 1,200 and two mobile phones from them.

Necessary investigation and legal action has been taken against the arrested persons; Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer Hari Bahadur Basnet informed that further investigation is underway into the incident.
