Parsa Police has arrested 8 people from various places under the 'Drug Abuser Search and Reform Campaign'. Brown heroin, white heroin and banned tablets have been recovered from the arrested. According to the District Police Office, Parsa, they were arrested with drugs while checking pedestrians and vehicles coming from India to Nepal at the Shankaracharya Gate Checkpost in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 on the evening of 25th Baisakh 2083. The police said that they found and seized drugs hidden in the bodies and vehicles of the arrested people. According to the police, the arrested are 27-year-old Bikash Kumar Sah and 23-year-old Kabin Parajuli. 600 milligrams of brown heroin was recovered from them. Similarly, 5 grams of brown heroin and 0.25 milligrams of white heroin were recovered from 20-year-old Sagar Ghimire and 23-year-old Pooja Jimba.
On the morning of April 26, police arrested 29-year-old Anjan Thapa and 19-year-old Ramesh Bamjan with 3 grams 37 milligrams of brown heroin. Similarly, 37-year-old Raju Baniya and 52-year-old Alihadan Miya were taken into custody with 53 pieces of banned tablets. Police have also recovered the motorcycle with Madhesh Province 03-028 Pa 7656 registration number used in the incident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Parsa, has said that the drug control campaign will be made more effective.
