After the Janmat Party withdrew its support, the four constituent parties of the Madhesh Province government have decided to continue the government led by the Congress.

The meeting of the Congress, JSP Nepal, NCP and LOSPA held in Janakpur on Sunday has decided to continue the government of Chief Minister Krishan Prasad Yadav and take a vote of confidence as soon as possible.

The meeting was attended by Congress parliamentary party leader and Chief Minister Yadav, JSP parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav, NCP parliamentary party leader Yubaraj Bhattarai and LOSPA minister Rani Tiwari. After the Janmat Party withdrew its support, Chief Minister Yadav will take a vote of confidence on Wednesday.

The number required for the government to survive is reached by four parties. There are currently 101 MPs in the Madhesh Province Assembly. There are 22 MPs from the Congress, 24 from the UML, 12 from the Janmat, 15 from the NCP, 26 from the JSP Nepal, 1 each from the Nagarik Unmukti Party and the Nepal Federal Socialist Party. Earlier, there were 107 MPs in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly.

Abhiram Sharma of the LSP, Saroj Singh Kushwaha of the JSP and Kanchan Bichha of the RPP are suspended, while Satish Kumar Singh of the Janmat, Bharat Prasad Sah of the NCP and Rahbar Ansari resigned from their positions as provincial MPs when they were candidates in the House of Representatives elections.
