The bullet tanker carrying gas that blocked the East-West Highway for almost 24 hours last month has not been taken away by the owner.
The Indian tanker that overturned in the middle of the highway is lying in a state of disarray at the District Traffic Police Office Chandranigahapur after the owner did not contact it for four months.
On 15th of February 2082, near the second junction of the East-West Highway in Chandrapur Municipality-4, traffic was disrupted for 24 hours after a bullet tanker carrying gas overturned on the road. The LP gas loaded bullet truck bearing number UP 17 AP 2114, which was coming east from India via Birgunj border, crashed in the middle of the road due to steering jamming.
The accident injured the driver Pawan Yadav, 37, of Jayanagar police station in Kador, India. The road was delayed due to the lack of equipment and preparations that could be removed immediately due to the risk of gas leakage and fire. The government mechanism had a problem as it did not have the equipment used in such accidents. The tanker was lifted off the road only after 24 hours of draining all the gas.
District Traffic Police Chief Rajendra Thapa Magar said that even after four months of the bullet tanker being lifted off the highway, the owner has not come to collect it. 'We sent a message through the driver at that time. But they have not come to collect it yet,' he said, 'The tanker is lying in front of the office. It has neither been removed nor kept. We have informed the higher authorities about this.' The traffic police said that since it is Indian goods, it has not been able to proceed with the process of storing it elsewhere.
