Preparations are underway to clear government and public lands here. The District Administration Office, Siraha, has issued a notice urging the local levels and concerned bodies of the district to initiate the necessary process for this.
The local levels have been urged in the notice to identify the public and government lands that are encroached upon within the district and the people living on such lands. Once the actual squatters are identified, they have been asked to make an alternative management plan including safe housing, health, food and other basic facilities.
After this, the local levels will start the work of removing the encroachments in coordination with the District Administration Office, security agencies and concerned stakeholders, said Siraha Assistant Chief District Officer Chetraj Baral. He also said that the general public will be informed when the encroachments are removed.
The District Administration Office has urged everyone to cooperate in this process, saying that no one will be displaced in an unsafe manner and the actual squatters will be rehabilitated in a safe and orderly manner.
