On the instructions of Janmat Party Chairman Dr. Chandrakant (S.K.) Raut, 9 provincial lawmakers have withdrawn their support to the government led by Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav. Raut on Tuesday elected party general secretary and Madhesh Province chief whip Chandan Singh as the leader of the parliamentary party.

Finance Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav and Sports and Social Welfare Minister Basanta Kushwaha, who were asked to withdraw from the government by the Janmat Party, remained in office until Tuesday afternoon. As the leader of the parliamentary party, Finance Minister Yadav wrote a letter to the provincial chief Surendra Lav Karna on Tuesday, informing him that he is supporting the Congress-led government.

Yadav and Kushwaha, who were recalled from the ministry, are adamant that they will not leave their ministerial posts, while the Janmat Party is prepared to take action against them if they are not recalled from the ministry.

Meanwhile, Singh, who has become the leader of the Janmat Party's parliamentary party, said that the ruling party Janata Samajwadi Party, LOSPA and NCP are also taking initiatives to withdraw support from the Congress-led government. After receiving the green signal from UML, Janmat, JSP, LOSPA and NCP are trying to form a new power equation in Madhesh Province. According to a JSP provincial lawmaker, JSP is interested in the changed political scenario after the Janmat Party withdrew support from the government.
