Police have arrested a person who was absconding after being sentenced in a banking offence case from Birgunj. According to the District Police Office, Parsa, 47-year-old Rajesh Kumar Gupta, who was hiding in the Birgunj Metropolitan City-8 area, was arrested at around 3 pm on Thursday. He was a resident of Sabyathawa-9 and was currently living in Birgunj-5.

The Parsa District Court had sentenced Gupta to 12 days in prison and a fine of Rs 1.1 million in a banking offence case. According to Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Raju Karki, the process of executing Gupta's sentence has been taken forward as per the court's order.
