The District Administration Office, Parsa, has urged people not to operate businesses in risky houses and huts located around the main road of Birgunj.

The office issued a notice on Friday, saying that as per the program of the Road Division, Hetauda, houses and huts that were not in compliance with the standards from Miteri Bridge to Gandak Chowk were demolished on 6th Baisakh and since then some homeowners have been voluntarily removing the structures. The administration has drawn attention to the fact that businesses are still operating in risky structures in some places.

The notice, signed by Assistant Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Pokharel, warns that allowing businesses to operate in such risky houses and huts puts the lives of homeowners, businessmen and the general public at risk, and warns that if there is an accident in such structures, the homeowners themselves will be responsible for it and action will be taken as per the prevailing law.

The notice, issued in accordance with the decision of the District Disaster Management Committee meeting held on Friday, also urges the concerned homeowners to give high priority to the safety of workers and the general public.
