Police have seized a pickup jeep with goods illegally imported from India on Thursday. The police have also arrested the jeep driver from Maulapur Municipality and started an investigation.

The police have taken control of a pickup jeep with registration number J1Cha 1343 located in Maulapur-3 while it was bringing mustard and mustard seeds from India. DSP Bishnu Pradeep Basyal of the District Police informed that 2,900 kg of mustard and 350 kg of mustard seeds were seized from the vehicle.

The police have also taken control of the jeep driver Pawan Sah, a resident of Sarlahi Lalbandi-7, while he was bringing the goods from India by evading customs. According to DSP Basyal, the arrested jeep driver is being interrogated.

Meanwhile, the police have also taken control of an Indian motorcycle with registration number BR05L 4560 while it was illegally bringing diesel from India at a chowk in Paroha Municipality-7. The police have informed that they will hand over the goods to the Gaur Customs Office for necessary action after investigation. For some time now, there has been an increase in the number of goods being illegally imported from India by evading customs revenue.
