It has been two months since his 14-year-old son went missing. He has been searching for his son day and night. However, Jayakrishna Kumar Yadav of Tilathi Koiladi-6, Babhangamakatti, Saptari is restless after not finding him anywhere.
Jayakrishna's son Aman Kumar had gone to see the Koshi Mela at Hanumannagar Kankalini-1, Bhardaha on the afternoon of Magh 19. However, when he did not return till late in the evening, the family started a search. The family has said that despite searching in possible places, the boy has not been found yet.
The family has held a press conference and requested help in finding his son. The boy's father Jayakrishna accused his neighbors Ramdev and Kari Yadav of making his son 'missing'. ‘Four days before my son went missing, Ramdev and Kari had said, “If you don’t pay Rs 10,000, hand over one bigha of land, otherwise I will kidnap and kill your son,” Jayakrishna said. ‘How could I give them all the land I have?’ He said that four days after they threatened him, his son went missing.’ At a press conference, Jayakrishna told them that Ramdev and Kari had told him that he had kept him in Koshi Palar. At that time, he claimed that both of them had threatened him again to transfer the land. ‘I filed a complaint with the police on Magh 22 to find him,’ he said. ‘The police questioned them, but the son was not found.’ He said that he went to the police on Chaitra 19 to file a complaint immediately after his son went missing. At that time, the police had ordered the family to find him and bring him back. He then said that he was forced to ask for help in finding his son through a press conference.
Accused Ramdev said that he only got information about the boy's disappearance 10/12 days ago. 'False accusations are being made against me,' he said, 'I have not asked for money or land from Jayakrishna, I have told the police the same in my statement.' Another accused, Kari, could not be contacted. According to locals, Kari is currently in India. District Police Office spokesperson DSP Dambar Bahadur Puri said that a search operation is underway for the boy after issuing a circular.
'As soon as the family received information to search for the boy, we have issued a circular to our subordinates and are searching, but we have not received a complaint,' he said. 'It has come to our attention that they have filed a complaint with the district administration mentioning the names of two people claiming that their son has been kidnapped.' DSP Puri said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
