Half a dozen organization officials active in the field of child rights submitted a memorandum to the Chief District Officer on Monday, saying that the victim's family has not received justice even after a long time since the heinous incident.

Former members of the Provincial Children's Network, District Children's Network, Gen-G Saptari, Khadak Municipality Youth Network and Children's Club submitted a memorandum to Saptari's Chief District Officer Tubaraj Pokharel.

The memorandum states that the victim's family has not received justice even after the rape and murder of 17-year-old Pooja Kumari Ram of Haripur, Surunga Municipality-7, Saptari on the night of April 1.

The incident of the gang rape and murder of 16-year-old Inisha BK in Birendranagar, Surkhet, which has shocked the entire society, has also been mentioned in the memorandum. 'Incidents of sexual violence, rape and exploitation against girls and adolescents have been increasing continuously in recent times.' The memorandum states that "some people have been taken into custody on suspicion of those incidents, but the fundamental rights related to child protection have not yet been effectively implemented."

They have demanded that the truth be made public through a fair, independent and transparent investigation of the incident, that those involved be prosecuted according to the law, and that the victim's family receive support and appropriate compensation under the judicial process. The memorandum demands that the respect and confidentiality of the victim's family be ensured by adopting sensitivity in the investigation and judicial process, and that the relevant state bodies effectively implement the law.
