The driver died and another person was seriously injured when a car with an Indian number plate on its way to Janti met with an accident near the Gandak Canal in Mahuwan, Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality-5, Parsa, on Monday night.
The accident occurred when an Indian car (BR 05 BL 0645) travelling from Saheb Sahni's house in Ramnagari, Bahudarmai Municipality-8, towards Ekdarwa village in Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality, lost control at around 9:15 pm and crashed into a peepal tree near the Gandak Canal, police said.
The driver, Harindra Sah Teli, 23, of Bahudarmai Municipality-9, who was seriously injured in the accident, died at around 10:15 pm during treatment at the LS Neuro Hospital in Nautan, Bara.
Chandan Sahni, 22, of Alau, Birgunj Metropolitan City-17, who was travelling in the same car, was seriously injured. He suffered injuries to his head, face and internal parts of the body and is currently being treated at the same hospital, according to the District Traffic Police Office, Parsa.
