Police have seized a tractor with a large quantity of marijuana from Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality-4 of Parsa. A police team led by Police Inspector Samunnat Adhikari from the Area Police Office Paterwa Sugauli seized a tractor with registration number May 1 Ta 5714 with 213 kg of marijuana at 11:30 pm on Monday night.
Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet has confirmed the incident. According to the source, a police team was deployed based on a special tip-off that ganja was being loaded from Sonvarsha in Paterwa Sugauli Rural Municipality-1 and taken to India. When the police team that was following the tractor from Sonvarsha reached Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality-4, the smugglers fled, leaving the tractor with the ganja behind.
The recovered tractor with the ganja has been kept at the Area Police Office Paterwa Sugauli. The police are searching for the absconding tractor driver, owner and smugglers.
