Nepali Communist Party candidate Kiran Sah of Rautahat-2 has demanded re-voting in eight wards of Rajpur and Ishanath municipalities, alleging fraud.
Candidate Sah said that he will recall his representatives deployed at the rigged polling stations. 'Voting has been done in the name of others,' said Sah, 'The police are sitting as mute spectators. I will now stage a sit-in at the election office.'
Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal said that although there were minor disputes in some places, there was no fraud anywhere and voting was peaceful.
Voting began at 7 am and 45 percent of the voting was completed by 2:45 pm, informed District Election Officer Chhotelal Das.
Rautahat, which has four constituencies, has 436,611 voters. There are 152 highly sensitive polling stations in this district. 143 candidates from different parties are in the fray.
