The collection of ballot boxes from polling stations is ongoing in Parsa. Chief Electoral Officer of Parsa Gayatri Prasad Regmi said that the collection of ballot boxes from all four constituencies is ongoing at the counting stations.

He said that this work may take an additional 1 hour. ‘It took time to check and seal the ballot boxes,’ he said, ‘All the ballot boxes will be collected in another hour.’

After the ballot boxes are collected, an all-party meeting will be held to decide on the counting of votes. ‘If there is an agreement in the meeting to start the counting of votes from Thursday night, it will be done accordingly,’ he said, ‘All preparations for the counting stations have been completed.’

The counting of votes for Parsa constituencies 1 and 2 will be held at Thakur Ram Campus in Birgunj and the counting of votes for 3 and 4 will be held at Uchhangal Secondary School in Pokhariya Municipality, Regmi informed.

Security arrangements have been tightened at the counting stations. Ballot boxes have been brought from the two temporary polling centers in the district, the District Post Office and Birgunj Jail, to the Thakurram Campus counting center. The collection of other ballot boxes is also ongoing.
