About 67 percent voting has taken place in Parsa. Parsa Chief Election Officer Gayatri Prasad Regmi said that initial information has come that an average of about 67 percent voting has been received from all four constituencies.
It is estimated that 252,000 votes have been cast in all four constituencies of the district. He said that no constituency has voted more than 100,000.
The total number of voters in the district is 376,513. Regmi has estimated that the final figures will be available by 10 pm. He also said that the election has been conducted peacefully throughout the district.
He said that the work of collecting ballot boxes from polling stations is currently ongoing. The counting of votes for Parsa constituencies 1 and 2 will be held at Thakur Ram Campus in Birgunj and the counting of votes for 3 and 4 will be held at Uchhangal Secondary School in Pokhariya Municipality, Regmi informed. He also said that efforts are being made to start the counting of votes as early as possible from Thursday night.
Out of the total voters in the district, 164,421 were women, 212,077 were men and 15 were other voters. There were 34 polling stations in Constituency No. 1, 38 in Constituency No. 2, 47 in Constituency No. 3 and 48 in Constituency No. 4. There were 441 polling stations in the district. There were two temporary polling stations.
There were 107 candidates in all the four constituencies of Parsa. Out of which 46 are independent. Among the independent candidates, seven are women and 39 are men. There are 61 candidates from political parties. Out of these, five are women and 56 are men. Out of 167 polling stations, 62 were kept in the list of highly sensitive. 85 were sensitive and 20 were in the list of less sensitive.
