Holi is being celebrated in Janakpur today, Wednesday.

Holi is being celebrated today as the internal circumambulation was completed on Tuesday.

It is a tradition to celebrate Holi in Janakpur only the next day after the 15-day religious Mithila Madhyam Parikrama is completed. The Holi festival has started in Janakpur since morning with the exchange of happiness by wearing colors and Abir.

Due to the election of the House of Representatives on Thursday, the local administration has appealed to celebrate the Holi festival peacefully and maintaining brotherhood.

Dhanusha Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luitel said that everyone has been urged to celebrate the Holi festival at home and in their families.

‘All preparations for the election have been completed. Everyone is requested to celebrate the Holi festival peacefully and help in the grand festival of the election,’ he said, ‘Security personnel have also been deployed in Janakpur to make the Holi festival peaceful and dignified.’
