Forming a government with UML is a mistake: Thapa

”Congress, UML, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Maoists have all made mistakes,” said Congress President Gagan Thapa. ”No one would have acted quickly now. Such mistakes should not be allowed to repeat themselves. I am aware of that.”

Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that forming a government with UML was a mistake.

Nepali Congress Rautahat Constituency No. 4 said this while speaking at the party induction program organized by the party in Hardiya, Brindavan Municipality on Saturday.

He said that the Congress had made many mistakes in collaboration with UML when it said that the 32-seat Maoists needed a prime minister and the 22-seat Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) needed a home minister.

'Congress, UML, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Maoists have all made mistakes,' he said. 'No one would have done anything if they had not acted quickly. Now, such mistakes should not be allowed to repeat. I am aware of that.'

He also said that he did not want to go that way now. 'We will show it by working for the next five years,' he said, 'but everyone should understand the spirit of the Genji movement.'

Chairman Thapa also said that since the conditions of education, health, drinking water, roads and Dalit settlements in Madhesh are deplorable, he will prioritize all these issues after his government is formed.
