Curfew lifted in Birgunj, prohibitory order issued

The District Administration Office, Parsa, has lifted the curfew order issued in Birgunj Metropolitan City. As per the order issued by Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, the curfew has been lifted with effect from 4:30 pm on Monday. The administration has withdrawn the order stating that the continuation of the curfew is not deemed necessary based on the decision of the District Security Committee and the analysis of the recent peace and security situation.

However, keeping in mind the potential risk, the administration has issued a prohibitory order in certain areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City from 6 pm on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday. The prohibitory order has been designated as the Bypass Road on the east, Ranighat Bridge on the west, Powerhouse Chowk on the north and Ghantaghar Chowk on the south. Any kind of gathering, procession, demonstration, meeting and meeting is prohibited during the prohibitory order period.

The administration has warned that action will be taken as per the law if the order is violated and has urged the general public to maintain peace, restraint and cooperation.
