A two-day international conference organized by Birgunj Public College has begun in Birgunj from Friday.
The conference, which focuses on ‘Innovation and Sustainability in Global Management Practices’, is attended by experts from universities and educational institutions in Nepal, India, Poland, Italy, Ukraine and Africa. In the inaugural session of the conference, the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapaliya, Vice Chancellor of Purvanchal University, emphasized the need for research, innovation and international collaboration in higher education and said that such conferences would play an important role in improving educational quality. Dr. Binay Shrestha, Campus Chief of Birgunj Public College, who is the program chair and conference coordinator, mentioned that such an international platform would be useful for knowledge exchange and development of research culture. Prof. Dr. Deepak Bad Shakya, Vice Chancellor of Madhes University, Hari Prasad Gautam, President of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Prof. Radheshyam Pradhan of Tribhuvan University, among others, addressed the inaugural session.
Various technical sessions were conducted on the first day of the conference. Five parallel sessions were conducted on Finance and Accounting, Economics and Business Analysis, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In the
sessions, papers were presented by Prof. Lucius Botes of North West University, South Africa, Prof. Dr. Brian Khan, Deputy Director of the University of Turin, Italy, Prof. Dr. Rafal Andrzej Liszt of Poland, professors from various universities in India and senior academicians from Nepal. During the
conference, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic cooperation was signed between Birgunj Public College and Vertias University, Nigeria, College of Social and Media Culture, Poland, and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Melitopol State Pedagogical University, Ukraine.
The conference is expected to make a significant contribution to expanding international collaboration, promoting research and improving educational quality. The conference will run until Saturday.
