Literary writer and journalist Mukunda Acharya has been honored with the Biharilal Lath Karmaveer Samman. Acharya was honored with a dosalla and a certificate of honor at a ceremony organized in Birgunj on Wednesday to mark the 14th death anniversary of the late Biharilal Lath, founder general secretary and former president of the Relief Society of Commerce.

The award was presented in recognition of Acharya's contribution to Nepali language and literature, Bhojpuri language and literature, teaching and journalism for more than five decades.

The chief guest of the ceremony, Madhesh University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Deepak Shakya, Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hari Prasad Gautam and Relief Society of Commerce President Yogendra Prasad Yadav jointly honored Acharya.

At the ceremony, District Election Office Parsa Chief Anamika Rauniyar, yoga instructor Ram Prasad Pandit, pilot Saurabh Rauniyar, entrepreneur Deepti Dhurka and teacher Dr. Neha Agrawal, who contributed to society from their respective fields, were also honored with certificates.

On the occasion, sewing machines were distributed to 11 women from Parsa and Bara on behalf of Radha Devi Vrijlal Lath Trust to increase entrepreneurship. Relief Society of Commerce Advisor Ganesh Prasad Lath expressed his belief that the organization has established a tradition of honoring individuals who have been contributing to various sectors of society for a long time every year and that this will further encourage those individuals.

Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hari Prasad Gautam suggested that the organization should continue the good tradition of honoring individuals who have been continuously making unparalleled contributions to society in their respective fields every year.

Doctor Dr. Ramji Ram said that this tradition should be continued as honoring individuals who contribute to the social sector in this way makes them more enthusiastic.

Chief guest Dr. Deepak Shakya, Vice Chancellor of Madhesh University, said that honoring individuals who continuously contribute to the society without any self-interest is commendable. Honored individual Acharya responded that the honor has further encouraged him and given him new energy to work in his field.
