Locals have launched a protest demanding that the bridge be built as soon as possible.
Earlier, a car fell into a ditch in Sahaja last night at midnight. The car number BAB 7821, which was heading towards Janakpur from Rajbiraj, crashed, injuring three people including the driver.
The driver, 22-year-old Abhishek Kumar Rai, a resident of Mujelia, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-14, Dhanusha, and the passengers behind him, 39-year-old Deepika Kumari Upadhyay and 20-year-old Priti Pattel, were injured.
After this accident, locals have been protesting by blocking the highway since morning. Due to the highway being blocked, traffic has come to a standstill, while passengers are stranded on the highway. 'I arrived here at eight in the morning, there was work in Janakpur,' said Sukdev Sah of Saptari, 'But, I am stranded here because the highway is blocked.'
Local leader Santosh Yadav said that although they have been protesting since morning, they are still protesting on hunger strike due to lack of concrete commitment from the contractor and the concerned bodies.
Although the construction of a bridge on the Sahaja River has been going on for a long time, the work has not been completed yet due to the negligence of the contractor and the concerned bodies. Due to which accidents have been happening here continuously.
