Sanjeev Narayan Yadav, a candidate from the Shram Sanskriti Party, whose name was removed from the final closed list of proportional representation MPs, has joined the Janmat Party.

On Sunday, Yadav was inducted into the party by Janmat Party's Organization Department Chief Dr. Jayakant Raut, the party's Madhesh Provincial Assembly Parliamentary Party leader and Finance Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav, among others.

Yadav's name from Bishnupur Rural Municipality-7 in Saptari was recommended as the second number in the proportional list of the Hark Sampang-led Shram Sanskriti Party under the Madhesi cluster. However, his name is not in the final closed list.

Yadav's name was removed last Monday when the Election Commission investigated the closed list of candidates. His name was removed citing the fact that the party had sent a letter to remove his name and that he had not paid the fine prescribed by the commission. Yadav was an independent candidate from Saptari Constituency No. 3 (1) in 2079. At that time, he had received 1,546 votes.

Before entering the referendum, Yadav had written on social media that he had decided to rejoin the Madhesh-centric party after considering the advice and suggestions of the Madhesh people. ‘I have decided to rejoin the Madhesh-centric party after considering the majority of the Madhesh people’s reaction to the decision to go to Mato Shaf a few days ago and after considering everyone’s advice and suggestions,’ he wrote on social media.
