It has been found that activities contrary to the code of conduct implemented for the upcoming House of Representatives elections have not stopped in Siraha.

It has been found that political parties, candidates and media persons are violating the election code of conduct.

Political parties and candidates are seen holding large gatherings and pasting flags, banners, pamphlets and other promotional materials in various places including restricted areas.

Not only this, some online media outlets have been spreading the content through social media by exaggerating the influence of certain candidates.

These media outlets have been violating the privacy of voters by making videos asking them who to vote for and posting them on social media. The District Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee has issued notices several times, but they have not been implemented.

The monitoring committee has again warned that such actions are illegal under Section 4 of the Election Code of Conduct 2082 and that those involved in such activities will be prosecuted under the prevailing law. The committee issued a notice on Friday.

'Earlier, we used to try to explain things, but it didn't happen like this,' Siraha's Assistant Chief District Officer and Monitoring Officer Chetraj Baral told Kantipur, 'Now we will take the person who does such an act directly to the legal realm.'
