A corruption case has been filed against 10 people, including two former heads of the Siraha-based provincial hospital. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case against them in a special court on Tuesday.
The CIAA has made the then Medical Superintendent Dr. Nagendra Prasad Yadav, Dr. Saroj Yadav, Administration Chief Ashok Singh, Accounts Chief Ashok Yadav, AHEB Shyam Kumar Mandal, Assistant Computer Operators Pooja Kumari Yadav, Saraswati Kumari Yadav, Roshan Yadav, Ajay Mandal and the deceased Accounts Chief Muskan Mandal as defendants in the corruption case.
The CIAA claims that they committed corruption by colluding to not deposit Rs 38,77,724 of the amount collected from patients in the hospital in the government account. The Commission has stated that although the amount of income is shown in the hospital's billing software, the corresponding amount has not been deposited in the bank voucher.
According to Suresh Neupane, spokesperson of the Commission, in the fiscal year 2080/081, a total of Rs 38,766,974.83 paisa was collected from 8 different counters of the hospital, but only Rs 34,889,250 was deposited in the hospital's records.
The CIAA has demanded from the court to recover the amount, as well as impose a fine equal to the amount and even imprison them.
