Ramvishwas Sah, 45, and his son Rupesh, of Nayabasti, Chandrapur Municipality-7, have not been able to obtain citizenship from the Chandranigahapur District Administration Office despite visiting for nine days.
Sah, who was fed up with visiting the office repeatedly and could not get citizenship, publicly criticized the administration staff on Monday.
Sah had submitted an application for citizenship for his son Rupesh Kumar Sah at the Chandranigahpur District Administration Office on Magh 11. In that process, the citizenship of his father Ram Biswas was submitted. The district administration had sent a letter to the district administration on the same day saying that Ram Biswas's record was not found.
Ram Biswas said that the district had also sent a reply saying that no record was found. 'Sometimes they say go to Gaur. Sometimes they say to get it online,' he said, 'They came to get my son's citizenship. Now they say to get my new citizenship. That too is a shambles, saying that it is not found.' He complained that he was tired of running to the office.
Ram Biswas had obtained citizenship number 3421 from the Gaur District Administration on Chaitra 12, 2011. The record from that time is not in the administration now. His citizenship had to be entered in the computer system (CIMS). His record has not been found to carry out this process. ‘This is the administration’s weakness, not mine,’ he said, ‘action should be taken against the employees who cheat like this.’
Madhav Prasad Sharma, the head of the Chandranigahapur Area Administration Office, withdrew his request saying that the paperwork process was not completed. The area administration has sent a letter to the Banbohari police post on Magh 15 for processing, saying that a new citizenship should be made for Ram Biswas.
He complains that the police assistant inspector of the post, Sureshman Shrestha, has also called him every day and caused him pain. Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhujel said that he will seriously inquire into the matter of Ram Biswas not getting citizenship. ‘I myself understand what happened in this matter,’ he said, ‘My wish is that the service recipients get citizenship easily.’
