Police have taken into custody a gang involved in robbery, theft and drug trafficking in various places in Mahottari.
The District Police Office, Mahottari, has said that a group of three people who attacked and injured Bisheshwar Singh of Gaushala Municipality-12 with a sharp iron on Wednesday night and robbed a motorcycle and mobile phone were arrested on Thursday along with the stolen motorcycle.
Singh, who was attacked with a sharp iron weapon and injured, is undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur. The Gaushala Police Office, Gaushala, has taken into custody 18-year-old Nirmal Sah, 18-year-old Nitesh Kumar Kushwaha, and 18-year-old Manish Ram, along with a motorcycle, on charges of robbing a Discover motorcycle bearing registration number Ja.5 Pa 4324, and is investigating, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Kumar Bhatta.
The police have said that all three arrested have been arrested on multiple robbery and drug charges. The three arrested on charges of attacking and robbing secluded houses, roads, and market areas using homemade weapons are being kept in police custody and investigation is underway.
Police Inspector Ramesh Lama of the Gaushala Police Office said that motorcycles are being stolen from the Gaushala area every day and that the three arrested people are being questioned about those involved in the theft.
